Western Balkans Environment Programe

In frame of the Western Balkans Environmental Programme Capacity Development and Policy Integration needs Assessment Reports were developed in all participating countries/ territories. Having in mind the importance of the studies the Regional Programme Management Unit prepared a publication The Western Balkans Environmental Programme: Review of Policy Integration and Capacity Development Need Assessment Studies

The reports included functional analysis of the specific mechanisms of the environmental management policies and practices and identified area where further capacity development is needed. The need assessments were developed by engaged experts, in consultation with a wide group of stakeholders including government ministries, regional and local authorities, NGOs, private sector and international donors. The studies represent a good summary of the existing good practices, problems, bottlenecks, opportunities for improvements and capacity development needs and were used for preparation of concrete capacity development programmes in all participating countries/ territories
