Database of Practitioners PDF

Data base of Practitioners is developed within the Western Balkans Environmental Programme (WBEP) with the main aims to:

  1. provide access to the roster of practitioners, i.e. individuals and organizations/institutions who are directly or indirectly related to remediation of environmental hot spots from all participating countries/territories;
  2. to enable the practitioners to offer their services;
  3. to promote free access to information. 

The database is designed to reflect a consistent, strong Programme - wide identity, while embracing the individual character and goals of each Programme segment.

Within this data base the term "Practitioner" represents both individuals and legal entities from all participating countries/territories relevant for the Programme scope of work and the main Programme objectives. 

DataBase is divided into three segments:

  1. Western Balkans Practitioners
  2. Practitioners  from Other Regions
  3. Are you a Practitioner?

Western Balkans Practitioners

Western Balkans Practitioners part presents the core of the Data Base. It has 800 + Practitioners, including individuals and legal entities, from six participating countries/territories.

Data Base provides relevant and at the moment available data about each data base member. 

Regarding individual practitioners, Data Base provides following information:

  • Name
  • Country/territory
  • E-mail
  • Fields of Expertise, including:
    • EIA/SEA practitioners,
    • environmental scientist,
    • environmental engineers,
    • waste water engineers/specialists,
    • civil engineers,
    • environment lawyers,  
    • environmental policy and economy practitioners,
    • environmental education and awareness raising practitioners,
    • geotechnical engineers,
    • hydro geologists,
    • hydrologists,
    • geologist/earth science,
    • ecologists (i.e. biologists/flora and fauna specialists etc ).
    • Nature resources specialist
    • Waste and material specialist
    • Health & environment
    • Agriculture and Land Expert
    • Chemistry Specialist and Environment
    • Industrial Pollution Control – Mining, Air and Soil
    • Industrial Polution Protection and Control
    • Air environment and metrology
    • Environmental management systems and standards specialists (ISO 14001, EMAS) 
    • Consultant, EIA Expert
    • Natural Resources Specialist
    • Construction Engineer

Additionally, Data Base contains other information, which are optional, like:  job title, company, contacts, working language, awards and other attached files (e.g. CV or any other document they would like to make available).

Regarding legal entities, Data Base provides: type of legal entity, fields of expertise, employees and contacts. Types of legal entities cover following:

  • Companies: environmental, engineering, GIS, consulting, geo-engineering etc.
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Universities/ faculties;
  • Research Institutes (usually affiliated with the Universities, but also private);
  • NGOs (environmental, relevant CSOs)
  • SME, environmental studies
  • Laboratorie

Data Base has the search engine through which a user can look for the particular practitioner according to: name, country/territory, fields of expertise and legal entity type.  

Practitioners  from Other Regions

During theprocess of data collection, different practitioners outside of the WesternBalkans region expressed their wish to be part of the data base. All these practitioners found their place in this section of the Data Base.

In addition, this part of the Data Base will provide information on companies/institutions which were engaged in remediation of the environmental hot spots in participating countries/territories.

Are You a Practitioner?

The third part of the Data Base provides a possibility and information on how you can update your own data within the Data Base (if your data are already in) or how you can be part of it.

The information in this data base has been collected through a targeted market research process conducted in each country/territory participating in this Programme. The information available in the data base was directly provided by interested practitioners together with a consent for the information to be provided publicly.
