The first Regional Team Meeting on Programme Progress

The first Regional Team Meeting on Programme Progress was held on 15th – 16th May 2008, in Becici, Montenegro.

In organizing and hosting the Meeting, the Regional Programme Management Unit had three main goals:

To facilitate that people involved in the implementation of this important Regional Programme get to know each other as personal contacts are the most solid foundation for good regional networking,
To enable involved parties to learn about other projects in the Region, about environmental problems that are being addressed by this Programme,
To present regional activities, what has been prepared and planned so far, and get feedback and inputs that will facilitate our future work.

The meeting participants were Programme Management Board members and the focal points for climate change, from all participating countries/territories, as well as donor representatives, UNDP country/territory teams and the UNDP Regional Programme Management Unit. They had a chance to present current situation related to the project implementation in each site, to share their experiences, as well as to discuss about future programme implementation. The special sessions were dedicated to forthcoming regional activities, the study tour and the ministerial conference, where consensus was reached on further implementation steps. Additionally, roles and responsibilities of all involved parties were discussed and agreed.
